Regulations for the Allocation and Review of Scholarships and Grants

1. These regulations are established in accordance with the "National Chung Hsing University Graduate Student Scholarship Implementation Guidelines."

2. Scholarships and grants are categorized into merit-based scholarships and need-based grants.

3. To reward outstanding academic performance, merit-based scholarships are awarded as follows:

  1. Master’s students who rank in the top five of the entrance examination will each receive NT$60,000. Those ranking sixth to tenth will each receive NT$45,000.

  2. Ph.D. students within their first three years of study are eligible to receive NT$30,000 per year, limited to five recipients per year.

  3. Master’s students who achieve top performance in both the compulsory courses "Principles and Techniques in Molecular Biology" and "Biotechnology" may be awarded scholarships (amounts determined based on academic year and available funds).

4. To encourage participation in academic activities and student services, special scholarships or grants may be awarded. The amount is determined by the “Scholarship and Grant Review Committee” based on annual needs and is approved by the institute director and class advisors.

5. These scholarships and grants do not apply to students who are currently employed.

6. These regulations are implemented and amended upon approval by the Institute Meeting.
